LIFE PROBLEMS – Shri Yogendra This is a book containing epigrams on such subjects of interest as love, marriage, society, politics, religion, etc and these are very striking and thought to provoke. There seems to be a lot of real insight and much thought given to the ordinary problems of life and has risen above the conventional way of working at things and holding an opinion on them. Shri Yogendraji’s remarks are very shrewd, incisive and sometimes well nigh revolutionary. They are very short, but often suggest a world of thought.
YOGA CYCLOPAEDIA - VOL. II Yoga today is being studied at the conscious level information and skill. The subconscious education of the eight Bhavas is completely missed out. The Yogic processed generate even if transiently certain wholesome subjective experiences (Aklista Vrttis). It is from these experiences that one builds up a healthy personality. Today when we are looking for an alternate education, we may as well think of some of these higher concepts, available to us in these programmes of education. There is already a movement in Western countries towards affective and trans – personal modes of learning besides humanistic education. Yoga education goes deeper than these attempts and can as a result take care of a wider area of the human personality in comparison to the present materialistic modes of education. These yogic procedures have been tried at the Yoga Institute, Santa Cruz for 83 years on school children and adults. The results have been very very satisfying.
A CURE FOR ASTHMA & RONCHITIS Most of us who suffer from asthma and bronchitis come to accept our condition as something to be borne with fortitude and patience. During an attack we may take a tablet or an injection or use an inhaler and once the attack is over we limp back to normalcy and carry on with the business of living. Another attack, and we reach for the tablets or injections again. Would you like to change this pattern of behavior? Do you want to? Do you believe you can? The fight against asthma and bronchitis begins with a strong will to overcome you disability and has to be backed by an implicit faith in yourself. The Yogic life strengthens your will, augments your faith in yourself and opens the air passages. How soon you can breathe with ease and on your own, depends on yourself. Some may achieve it in weeks, others may take months. But what are you waiting for? Being now! The work of The Yoga Institute, Santa Cruz as I have been seeing it for the last several years is excellent. The scientific data collected is impressive. I am convinced of the great value of Yoga for Asthma and Bronchitis. Dr. A. A. Mahashur Head of the Dept. Chest Medicine K. E. M. Hospital, Bombay
